Mac Mic Strategic Land have submitted an outline planning application for approximately 145 new homes on land south of Old Banwell Road, Locking, and approximately 270 new homes, a retail unit and community building on land north of Banwell Road, Elborough, separated by a new country park.
The image below is our Illustrative Masterplan, showing how the proposed developments could be laid out. This does not represent a fixed layout for the scheme – the precise layout would be decided at a later, ‘reserved matters’ stage if our application is approved.

The land in question constitutes a single site for planning purposes and is proposed for allocation in North Somerset Council’s new draft Local Plan. However, two essentially separate residential developments are proposed alongside significant new public open space:
- Approximately 145 homes on land to the south of Old Banwell Road, Locking, with vehicle access from Old Banwell Road only
- Approximately 270 homes on land to the north of Banwell Road, Elborough, with vehicle access from Banwell Road only
- A new country park between the two developments, creating an enhanced landscape gap between Locking and Elborough
